Hair loss and hair thinning are very common. As we age, our body changes in many aspects and changes to our hair are part and parcel of that. It is also common to experience hair thinning and hair loss for other reasons. An illness such as cancer for example and its’ accompanying treatments can and often do cause changes to hair growth. How you deal with the thinning or loss of your hair is entirely down to your personal preferences and requirements, and there are many alternatives that you can try and products you can buy. Not all are proven though. However, if you have tried other treatments and are still looking for improvement, then surgery for hair restoration could be the answer.
Hair loss is a common medical condition, which can affect both men and women at any age. The NHS has stated that over 8 million women in the UK suffer from alopecia (the general medical term for hair loss), and male pattern baldness is one of the most common types of hair loss, which usually affects those who are near the age of 50.*
